In the past VT Group was divided into five different business areas – VT Communications, VT Education and Skills, VT Services Inc and VT Support Services – whose experience in the last five years has enabled VT to become a leading support services company.
These separate brands have allowed VT to build a number of distinct capabilities in a wide range of markets, including defence, support services, communications, education and training, and shipbuilding. VT now has a vast range of skills at its disposal, branching out to customers in many different market sectors.
We now provide a range of services from designing, acquiring and then operating and maintaining facilities and assets, through to providing support and training. These services are offered to everyone from fire fighters and teachers, to apprentices and pilots.
The exit from the shipbuilding and navel support joint venture BVT Surface Fleet enables VT to become a business focused entirely on support services.
This transition to a pure services business represents a major milestone in VT’s long history and provides us with an exciting opportunity to take the group forward, in line with our vision to set the standards for the delivery of customer-critical services.
Our strategic direction has been reinforced by our reorganisation into three business segments:
These new business segments will allow for a greater sharing of talent, expertise and knowledge across the group and will bring operational efficiency benefits from a ‘One VT’ approach. As we develop a more integrated service we will be able to offer our customers greater value for money through innovation and efficiency in service delivery.
